Finally!!! The Last Few Details of My Master Bedroom

Just a couple more things to show you guys in my bedroom, and then I'm outa here.....
Next to the bergere is a small glass and metal stand.....
.
This is a cigarette stand.
I don't smoke.
So I use it for other purposes.....
I used the glass box to hold candy.....
I've stopped eating candy.....
Now it's empty.
Give me time, I'll find something else to cram in there!!!!!
The shell is an ashtray. I use it as a little drinks table...
It's the perfect size for a cup of tea.
Or mug.....
(which is more my style.)
The base has a rod encased in a glass fluted tube, giving that wonderful 1920's vibe.
I have no idea when this was made.
BUT IT IS SOOOOOO MY STYLE!!!!!!!
It has the same feel as my other glass pieces, like my vanity lamps....
This stand was just one more great item I found for a client that
DIDN'T GET IT!!!!!
I mean, she could have gotten it.
She didn't want it.
She didn't get the concept.
She didn't understand how
wonderful it was!!!!!
I tell ya, my best stuff are the things rejected by my old clients.

Across the room is a chair for throwing more stuff on.....
The picture came from my grandparents Manhattan coop.
It's actually an embroidered piece of fabric,
The chair has my initials monogrammed on the seat cushion.
I designed the monogram and had it made out of decorative gimp.
AND FOR THE LAST DETAIL OF THIS ROOM....
The bench at the end of the bed.
This bench is very important.....
It's where I sit to put on my socks.....
The little dot and stripe was the perfect fabric complement to all the toile in the room.
So, that's it for this room....
NEXT UP IS THE BATHROOM!!!!
WHOOPIE!!!!!
Once again I will ask the burning question.....
How exciting is my life!!!!!
Till then....

Your master bedroom is looking amazing! I love those retro ashtrays, my mom had and since we don't smoke now, and no one does inside a home, I'm loving what you turned them into! The bench at the end of the bed is gorgeous. I want to do a whole rebumping in our bedroom too, I guess it'll be a 2013 priject, so you have inspired me so! Everything is beautiful, from the wall paper, draperies, chair and night table, perfect! You should join with this fab bedroom at The Polo House, she has her once a month linky: "Favorite on the First", in which you link up your fav room in the house. See you there, I hope.

Betsy,

I sit here reading and loving your blog, thinking . . . 'where can I find an armoire like that? . . . how do I find that chair/table/bench?' I understand (believe me, I do) that you are retired as a Designer, but there is a gap in the blog business that I think you could fill. Find pieces and put a price on them and sell them on-line. I trust you. Others trust you.

I hope that's next on your list. But! You must service Canada! I live in an historic town outside of Toronto . . .

Betsy that monogram is so fantastic I may have to steal it! Don't sweat it though, what my actual sewing ability is, and what I think my sewing ability is... worlds apart.

Lovely room, very inspiring. I alas, threw away all my riding ribbons... but I still have my horse. I've had him 21 years this weekend, and he's 27 and retired to a lovely field with 2 adoring ladies... life is good.

Hi Betsy,
The glass cirarette stand is so cool and a great way to re-purpose it.
I love your monogrammed seat cushion the design you created is really pretty. I also have a bench at the end of the bed, my husband uses it to put his socks on too....
Your armoire is beautiful, I adore it! it has such a lovely presences in the room. I would say you have the perfect bedroom fit for a queen.
Looking forward to seeing the bath..
Have a sweet weekend, Elizabeth

Betsy did you sew the monogram? I love it! The room is as great as the rest of your beautiful home! I agree with Laura that you could sell things online, but I am betting you are enjoying retirement like me. Also I bet your friends and family keep you busy helping them design. Your work is a treasure! lin lbprich@bellsouth.net

I have always LOVED the style with which you decorate your home. You are such an inspiration and a joy! My grown children don't seem to appreciate this Classic Style but thankfully, I no longer have to consider their preferences! ( I could never get into the 'Industrial' or 'Less is More' styles) I just love surrounding myself with things I find beautiful.

Beautiful! You are right about your cigarette table. What a find. It looks like something Katherine Hepburn would of had in one of her movies. Glamorous.

Betsy, a better question is how exciting are your reader's lives as we hang on every word and picture you show!

O yes, Elizabeth! All the details are certainly exciting! That wonderful glass stand is amazing. Some of my fav things are unique things my customers didn't "get" either, and I'm glad too! Your room is fantastic. And of course the fabrics are perfection!

I am so glad you featured your bench because I just painted my living room end tables and wondered if I'd put on a little too much glaze. Well, they look like your bench..so that makes me pretty dang happy :-)

Beautiful room! I too love the cigarette holder...even though I don't smoke either.

Betsy - Love the cigarette stand. Love all of your roses in your decor. Our bedroom is all done in a cabbage rose print and people keep telling me it's out of style. But, I love it and it's peaceful and serene and I'm keeping it that way.
