This Ain't #$% Florida!!!!!

oy, oy, oy, oy, oy, oy!!!!!
Soooooo.....
I'm up here in Massachusetts.....
AND SO IS THE SNOW!!!!!
This is the view outside my Florida bedroom window.....
And this is the view I woke up to this morning in Massachusetts.....
That white stuff is
SNOW.....
I don't like snow!!!!!

This is the view outside my Florida living room.....
This is the view outside my Massachusetts family room.....
That's snow piled up against the door......
snow
snow
SNOW!!!!!
There is a reason I go away in the winter!
(but.....)
I love my family
I love my family
I love my family
I love my family
I love my family......
I keep repeating that to myself as I'm shoveling over to my parents condo,
as they lost their heat because their vent was covered with snow,
and I couldn't even get my storm door opened because there was a snow drift against it.
We (my fellow condo dwellers and I) were all told to be patient as it would take some time to dig us all out.
SOOOOOO.....
I removed the storm insert and climbed out the door to shovel the snow away from my door.
Then I started to shovel a path over to their door.
I had to get to them,
either to clear their vent and get their heat going again,
or to bring them over to my place.
SOOOOOO.....
I shoveled,
and I shoveled,
and I shoveled.
I got half way there and wanted to just
scream!!!!!
But!!!!
instead, I came back inside and called the president of the condo association.....
and wined pathetically!!!!!
which worked!!!!!
SOOOOO.....
We were the next to get shoveled.
And then the
WONDERFUL MEN
slogged around to the back of their house and cleared the snow from their vent!!!!!
And I was able to get their heat back on
(because I had called our heating company this AM,
and the tech guy told me how to.)
SOOOOOO.....
Now my folks are warm and happy in their place,
and I am warm and happy
(as much as I can be in the @#$ winter)
in my place.
Thank goodness my dad is on the mend,
and I can get the #$% out of here within the next couple of weeks.
My brother thinks I'm a woose,
but I think I'm just a delicate flower.....

On that note....
Later, Gator

wow! YOu are a tenacious one!! Good for you for getting the needful done. Mom and Dad are lucky to have ole Bets around right now I'd say. Cleanup remains underway over here in Malden. Stay warm and cozy. I am having fun blog hopping and cooking and playing trivial pursuit!

OMG! I knew when I went to read blogs this am, that, you, were in Boston and that you would be p@$$*d. lol And you didn't let us down. On a serious note, it is a good thing that you were there to make sure your mom and dad were ok. You're a good daughter. (I mean that seriously.)

Delicate flower, I was waiting to hear from you. Hopefully you will be back in the warm sunshine soon and post more cheerful decorating advice! I do not want to hear about the snow; I live with it! LOL
Stay warm!

We totally dodged a bullet here in SE Pa. No snow!!! Got the WIND but that's all. You are one tenacious broad, and I say that affectionately. Your Mom and dad are lucky to have you. Hope you get back to sunny Fl. soon. XO, Pinky

Hmmmm....your view out your Mass. window is pretty familiar to us in ND ;-)

Stay warm and hit the road to FL soon. Good to hear your dad's getting better.

Remember the Blizzard of 78? I was still up in MA for that. They are saying this one is worse! Maybe you were meant to be up there as a reminder of that nasty stuff and how much you lurve Fleridida! I'm stuck in DC area, halfway between my childhood home in MA and my retirement home in FL. So glad the snow missed us. Cheers! Beth C.

They are now naming snowstorms and they called this one Nemo. I think it's safe to assume that this time, Nemo found us... We got hit hard here in Ontario on Friday, but I think you folks in Boston got a double helping!! Doesn't it make you appreciate your Florida abode even more?

I 'm with you Betsy. I want to get out of here and get down to our house in Florida. We have 2 and 3 foot drifts here on Cape Cod. And no power from Friday night until 5:30 this morning. We are out of here on Thursday on our way to Florida. Yahoo!!!! Glad your parents are safe and warm.

It all looks beautiful, but I know what a pain in the butt it can be. Glad you got your folk's heat back on. Stay warm....~Delores

You'd better be careful in that white fluffy stuff. You know what I did to my silly self and there wasn't anything but dirt.

I know your parents were so happy to have you there to help them. And what heroic efforts, Betsy! You're a good daughter.

Wish you were here to enjoy the weather. All of our azaleas are blooming along with the camelias. It's a little early for azaleas, but the camelias are right on schedule. That being said, here's the tradeoff... you will be there when the weather turns beautiful and when we are battling heat and humidity. You lucky girl, you! The best of both worlds!

Hi Betsy,
Daughter Betsy to the rescue! I would have moved snowed and earth too, to get to my parents. The poor dears without heat, Burrr. I have never lived in snow, I think it always looks so pretty in pictures and we have rented a cabin in the snow for a weekend. That is the extent of my snow living. I wimp out when its cooled in my bed at night so I keep the electric blanket turned up..LOL so I am a delicate little flower too.
Have a sweet week, Elizabeth
