The Final Chapter on Kris's City Cottage Living Room

Continuing on with my buddy Kris's home.
Today we'll end the show and tell about her living room.....
I forgot to show a close up of the table between her two club chairs.
We (Kris) picked the hydrangea blossoms from her garden, and I stuffed them in her silver cachepot.
for a change she decided to place a few dogs on the table.....
Then a big guy at the base of a table......just another dog!!!!!
OK, now we're done with that wall, let's move on.....
The room was a little long, so I stuck a chair by the hallway doors, facing the piano.
It backs up to the seating area around the fireplace.
I thought, for a change, I would arrange some more pictures of dogs on the walls.....
Just a few more....
And then some......
It's amazing the woman has any time for her job and her family with all the energy she expends looking on ebay.....
I don't think there are any dog pictures left in the world.
Here are some of the pictures we still have to hang.....

Behind the chair is another stick and ball Victorian book shelf.
It might be a music shelf, I don't know this stuff.....
As I said last week, Kris has a weakness for these shelves, so has
2
in the living room.....
It seemed a good idea to put a dog on the books.....
The magnifying glass is if you want to see the dog better......
In the corner of the room is her bar.
She's very sophisticated and needs a place to store her booze stuff for when she entertains.
All she's ever offered me is a beer.....
I guess I don't rate the fancy things.....
'Course, give me a diet coke and I'm happy.....
Or some hot tea.....
BUT NOTHIN' FROM THIS CABINET!!!!!
Over the cabinet she hung some dogs.....
for a change.....
I tell ya, if you want some,
THERE AREN'T ANY MORE!!!!!
Here's a close up of her fancy shmancy bar.....
Inside is the pretty stuff....
That I don't get to use......
But she had to stick some dogs inside.....
I gave her this framed needlework saying.
It was a present to me from a friend, but I don't have any room for it anymore since my move.....
As we leave the room, one last place for some.....
dogs!!!!!
So, away from the dogs, and onto the next room with a theme.....
You'll just have to wait til Saturday to see what's next......

Love that color yellow on the walls and that runner on the stairs would be perfect in my home :)

Very nicely done! Wow, I've never seen so many pictures of dogs in a room, let alone a home, in my life, lol!

Now just remind me, is she a dog or cat person? :) Thanks once again for some lovely ideas that will just suit my own room. You've done a wonderful job. xx

I love dogs too...but I guess I prefer the living ones and ones in picture books ;-) When is "lots" too many when decorating in themes? I do have to say, this room looks cozy and I'd be playing the piano for hours and hours...probably getting musical composition ideas from all the ....(wait for it...) dogs! :-) Hee hee!

Oh, my, but things really have gone to the dogs!
I'm not usually one for themes but I've got to say it really works. The room is still cozy and spacious, very English. Looks amazing!
Have a happy and blessed Thanksgiving.
Hugs,
Patti

Hi-yesterday I was in an awful nasty mood, so when I got to your blog (which always makes me laugh and inspired me!) I spend hours, yes hours going through all of your posts. It was better than taking a xanex or having a drink a noon! So, thank you, Betsy Speert, for making my day better.Paula Lusk

Love how you write Betsy - let alone decorate. And I enjoyed seeing the dog room - it works! Dogs are soooo much better than people ;-). Cheers!
