Believe it or not.....
I have even more rooms to show you guys!!!!!
Today is the day to show off my powder room.
When I bought my condo, it was a three bath home.
I'm one person.
I only have one body.
I don't need three places to wash it.......
So in my master bath I have a shower stall.
In my upstairs guest bath I have a tub.
THAT'S ENOUGH ALREADY!!!!!
So in the downstairs hall/guest bath, I took out the shower stall and converted it over to my laundry room.
After living 27 years in my Watertown home with the laundry in my dark, dank, apt to flood basement.....
I had a fantasy of a laundry room on the first floor near my bedroom.
IT IS HEAVEN!!!!!
IT IS HEAVEN!!!!!
IT IS HEAVEN!!!!!
So,
Now I am going to show it off!!!!!
I used the same slate floor as my entry.
I found a nice piece of slate for the counter top.
I used the largest Kohler Paxton sink,
as this was also going to be used as a laundry sink.
AND THEN.....
I sprinkled a few dogs around......
Just a few.....
I really don't have a problem.....
EVERY ONE IS NECESSARY!!!!!
What's the point of having a mirror, if you can't put a dog head on it????
Ya know????
I feel this is an important addition.
HE NEEDED TO GO SOMEWHERE!!!!!
So this is where he goed!!!!
Everybody knows
that dog collections belong
OVER THE TOILET!!!!!
EVERYBODY KNOWS THAT DOG COLLECTIONS NEED TO START ON THE TOILET TANK COVER!!!!!
EVERYBODY KNOWS THAT BULL DOGS AND THEIR ILK,
ARE IMPORTANT IN ACQUIRING GOOD HYGIENE!!!!
(some more bull dogs)
EVERYBODY KNOWS THAT EVERY HOME SHOULD HAVE
A DOG HOUSE!!!!!
(over the toilet....)
My father's brother made us this doghouse.
We had it hanging in our dining room when I was a kid.
If someone was bad.....
(like singing at the table.)
(My father was wont to do that.)
the guilty party was hung in the dog house.
In honor of my brother David moving to the Boston area for a sabbatical,
he is hanging in the place of honor......
I needed to hang something next to the sink, as I deplore a vacuum.....
I racked my brain for an idea.....
I KNOW!!!!!
MORE DOGS!!!!!
I had some left over dogs.....
seemed like they needed to sit on the counter....
This guy has a ball to play with!!!!
I'm very concerned about them being entertained......
Across from the toilet is a little needle point bench,
I use it to deposit laundry waiting to be changed from soiled to
clean....
Of course,
I had to hang something on the wall.....
I know!!!!
HOW ABOUT SOME DOGS!!!!!
A lot of these drawings and prints I got from my Mom.
She had them when she was a girl.
I found an old hooked rug that picked up the colors of the needlepoint bench.
I love the way all the colors work with the stone floor....
So,
Here's a shot of my laundry room.....
it's hidden!!!!!
It's where the shower used to be.
I left all the plumbing in place in the walls,
in case I
(or someone after me)
wants to put it back.
I love that there is still a drain in place in case the washer ever overflows or springs a leak!!!!!
I had a simple old 1940's light installed in the ceiling.
It's all the light necessary for this little room and has a nice vintage feel.
So there you guys go.....
That's my power/laundry room.
Have a great Sunday afternoon.....
soooooo......

I did the same thing - squeezed my washer/dryer in my girls bathroom closet! I'm scared to go in my basement!
One question - are you a dog or a cat person?!
Kelly
Love the transition!! Love the dogs and really loooove the doghead on the mirror. You are one ingenious person. Pretty room to do laundry in.

Wow, this is different and a very clever idea too! I love the merger, powder/laundry room and the fact that you have it near you, upstairs! Thanks for sharing. Have a blessed week.

Oh goodness! I forgot to comment on all your doggie collection, pictures, figurines, every where! I also have a dog collection and I too love them all over my house. Love it!!

Aren't you clever to convert the shower into a laundry area, especially since it has a built-in drain!
I love your dog collection. They are so cute. I have a few, one my dad had when he was a little boy, it is my favorite. Let me tell you, you haven't lived until you have your washer/dryer on the same floor as your bedroom. I love cats too, but I like live ones, my little girl is Lily, she sleeps under the covers with my husband and I. Love your parrots too.
I dunno' how I will fill my days if you ever run out of rooms.... as always lovely. And those dogs...I want a collection like that, but I have such a collection of real ones living here, I guess the statues would be overkill?

My dog thoroughly approves of all the dogs in your powder/laundry room. She would like it even more if you'd please leave the lid up because everyone knows how dogs appreciate fresh water in a large cool porcelain container.
In honor of your lovely room, I'm off to unearth my own doggity-dog collection which will beautify Kharma's favorite powder room.

This is a great room!!!! I understand fully! My guest bath is decorated with my sizeable collection of.........................raccoons!!

aw, love the dogs.
I think it would be very cute to have a picture of a fire hydrant on the door leading to this powder room!
What more can be said,,,,you're a Bad Dog Girl!
Love your dog collection..so cute and so much fun for a powder room. Great little stool, too.

I love the powder room so cute and whimsy...then i saw the dog house.. i got a little scared,we had one in our house and I was always in it! I never knew why...Cheryl...p.s. I'm a goo girl now!
I am getting panicky, you will soon run out of rooms!!!! I have loved every single second of your glorious condo...............please add on some rooms??? You mentioned that you have family over often, so what do you serve, are you a marvelous cook too?? If not just share anyway...............it is the people, NOT the food anyway. Wish you would do a coffee table book so I could enjoy with coffee and cookies, kicked back in a comfy chair...................just think about it, you have a built in bevy of buyers!!!!
Oh my goodness, I love this room! I don't have a dog right now...sniff sniff...but this has inspired me to perhaps turn my laundry room into a doghouse of sorts! LOL! Love it!!!!
I am so dam envious you have a laundry room by you bedroom. Our laundry is in the dungeon (basement, we do not have a laundry shoot, also no room for laundry basket, so the clothes sit in the tub, waiting to be taken down - ugh!!!!! I love how you converted the shower into a laundry room great idea. Love all your dogs in the room, and so happy to see you gave one a ball to play with! Thanks for sharing your creative inspiration with Sunday’s Best – you helped make the party a success!
Betsy - I shared your Dog Powder Room today on Mod Mix Monday. I love it...especially the mirror.
Love your sense of style!
I think I will follow you...and get more quirky design ideas!

I have a dog themed bathroom. OK, well, dog themed house. I love what you have done. My bathroom will end up being black and white, and I have my Boston Terrier collection in it.
