I too think they're timeless and (OK..kick me now!) but I am not a fan of granite. I think it just doesn't have the timeless appeal marble has.Connie@Connie Nikiforoff Designshttp://www.cndesigns.biznoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-780745603109193534.post-14167265892844048212011-11-06T08:57:55.604-05:002011-11-06T08:57:55.604-05:00Amy, I have a tile backsplash, just not on the sid...Amy, I have a tile backsplash, just not on the sides of my countertops. If you don't do a backsplash, I strongly advise to calk the joint between the counter and the wallpaper!Betsy Speerthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06228282974759764845noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-780745603109193534.post-77103054483507187862011-11-06T07:16:26.949-05:002011-11-06T07:16:26.949-05:00Hi Betsy~thanks for talking about the marble count...Hi Betsy~thanks for talking about the marble countertops. I see you didn't do any backsplash out of tile or a small marble ridge there, just the wallpaper. Dave thinks we need to "seal" that area where we put our wannabe marble countertop and the beadboard paper. I don't think it is necessary and now I see that you have your slab with only the paper behind it. Green light for me. Also, I think the pillows are great. I was in an antique shop yesterday that had the most darling round stool in blue with pink roses....price tag $225! Needless to say it is still there. That might be a good winter hobby.Amy Chalmershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10622362955890810774noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-780745603109193534.post-48301349301399277262011-11-05T20:34:36.211-04:002011-11-05T20:34:36.211-04:00That was good information about the marble. But now i know, that if i ever get rich and famous, i'll consider marble. Your needlepoint pillows are so cool. I love that you design them and needlepoint them yourself. What treasures they are...

CindyCindyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16980709067973460368noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-780745603109193534.post-22757739438077610092011-11-05T17:15:28.587-04:002011-11-05T17:15:28.587-04:00I love your story about Pilo.
